About the Session
Dyslexia is often associated as a learning disorder for children that includes problems with reading and writing. Specifically, individuals with dyslexia have problems matching the letters they read to the sounds those letters make. Unfortunately, many children with dyslexia, particularly in Asia Pacific region are not diagnosed. The results range from undiagnosed adult dyslexia to cases where adults find their symptoms change as they age. People with dyslexia commonly go through learning and other neurological challenges including problems with information processing, social skills, organization, and memory issues.
The research on adult dyslexia is majorly based on research done on English speaking populations where data collected through other language speakers may primarily be missing which leaves a massive gap in the number of people in Asia Pacific region that may have undiagnosed adult dyslexia.
In this interactive workshop our speaker will speak on adult dyslexia, symptoms and how to support colleagues and clients through this difficult tendency and offer emotional support as well as other tools and resources to manage adult dyslexia.
