Event Details

In our final ethics study group meeting, we will review the chapter on Moral Nihilism from Julia Driver's book 'Ethics - The Fundamentals'. Moral nihilism asserts that nothing is inherently immoral, suggesting that morality is essentially non-existent. This perspective views ethical rules and laws as superficial constructs lacking essential value in decision-making. We will also review relevant sections of the Global Code of Ethics to enhance our understanding of ethics in relation to the EMCC ethical code. Additionally, we will discuss the next ethics book for our study group, starting in September, after a break in June and July. Stay tuned for the upcoming ethics quarterly meeting in June with Rachel Hawley.

Meeting agenda:

  1. Chapter 10 Review : Moral Nihilism
  2. Exploring implications of moral nihilism for coaches and mentors
  3. Cultural perspectives on moral nihilism
  4. Global Code of Ethics
  5. Upcoming Ethics webinars and study group sessions
