Unlocking Creative Conflict – The superpower of teams

Psychological safety is widely recognised as essential to high performing teams. A team's capability to build an environment that safely invites, explores, nurtures and builds on difference is a key determinant of the quality of the team's decision making. Yet most of us lean out of not into conflict. Difference often feels personal and consensus is frequently prioritised over challenge. Conflict is often shut down, the status quo is protected and group think rapidly takes hold. Yet, conflict is the natural outcome of diversity, it holds the transformational power of change. Reframed, it's generative and productive, helping us to solve complex problems by leveraging the 'we' rather than 'me'.

This session will focus on the conflict reframe, shifting our relationship with conflict by exploring the art and science of creative conflict and how to unleash its transformational impact for better team decision making, divergent thinking and innovative change.
